Hey all, I know the release schedule for the Geeks on PHP podcast has been erratic and unpredictable lately. We are currently in the process of revamping the format of the show including me taking over as host and the possibility of adding someone else as co-host. Stephen’s responsibilities with the New Brew Thursday podcast have increased exponentially which is the underlying reason behind the changes going on with Geeks on PHP.
This week we find ourselves at [ 21st Amendment Brewery ] in San Francisco with Shaun O’ Sullivan. We get completely crazy, with a full house behind us and talk canning, Partner Brewing, childhood memories, and quote a few movie lines.
This week we kick off our month of on location episodes in San Francisco with a bang … we get the amazing, and incomparable Brian Brushwood.
We give Brian a small education on craft beer and he gives us a small education on beer snobbery.
I was looking for some music to use in a demo video that I'm creating for work. I was looking for some creative commons stuff or something that had a flexible license. I came across Jamendo which provides a way for artists to give away, license, and sell music; and quite a bit of the music is free for personal use.
The album Community Service by Professor Kliq caught my attention. Get it on Jamendo
A collection of works from 2005 to 2009. Professor Kliq's compilation samples every genre of music he's ever created. Everything from conceptual experimentation and heavy rock influece are present. Even school projects have made their way into it. Tracks are sampled from 2006's Guns Blazin and 2008's The Scientific Method: Volume II, and include one unreleased track from the Guns Blazin era. Visit http://www.professorkliq.com for more, and to keep up with news on Professor Kliq.
I have had a lot of fun and learned a lot from setting up Buzz Town Center. I know my schedule won't be allowing me keep up with the site like I want to. So I decided to switch over to a Ning site which should lesson the amount of work that I'll have to do. It should also be easier for others to help me adminster.
I'm not really sure if there is a place for Buzz Town Center. My initial ideas were to have it help to more connect everyone together easily and serve as a place where meet-ups and local groups could work together to organize each other.
This was an experiment using the new element in HTML5. If you have a crappy browser and this just doesn't work you can use this link directly to the video.
This week New Brew Thursday goes international! We find ourselves in the Shibuya District of Tokyo Japan visiting one of the best craft beer bars in Japan, Craftheads. We toss back some craft pizza, and a Japanese Saison called Shiga Kogen Miyama Blonde brewed by Tamamura-Honten.
This week we check out The Bruery’s Hottenroth. Tyler King, The Bruery’s Head Brewmaster, joins us in the Taproom for a sampling of Hottenroth, a 3.2 ABV Berliner Weisse with a bit of tart.
This week we beat the crap out of Brad, drink some Alesmith Speedway stout, call John out on not having the glasses he promised to have and Stephen rants about bad cheese.. Land O’ Lakes, I am looking at you …
